Our Teething Must Haves for Babies and Toddlers

The teething phase is a long uphill battle for some babies and toddlers and for others may disrupt their life very little. Teething effects each child in a different way, it could change their mood, make them want to eat more or less, disrupt their regular sleep patterns or make them feel more tired than normal. All of these responses to teething are normal and each baby will get their teeth at their own schedule. As parents all we can do is listen to our babies cues and try to support them. We can offer a wide range of teething toys I prefer silicone ones that can be sanitized easily or put in the freezer. For older babies and toddlers also offering foods of different textures or temperatures to see what feels good on their gums.

  1. Chill Out Teether : This three pack was one of our favourite teething products and we had them on rotation in and out of the freezer during the journey to each new tooth. My baby used these from four months all the way until she got her two year molars in her toddler years. The cold feeling can help swollen gums and take away some of the teething pain.

  2. Banana Bendable Training Toothbrush is so adorable and also great for when babies are looking to chew on something with a little texture. The silicone bristles give just enough texture with still being gentle on the gums. This teether is also good for babies and toddlers and can reach the gums further back in their mouth.

  3. NatureBond Food Feeder is a fun, tasty option for older teething babies and toddlers. You can place fresh or frozen fruits inside the teething feeder for your baby to chew on. As they chew they get the delicious flavour in their mouth and the soft silicone is still gentle against their gums.

  4. Munchkin Fresh Food Freezer Pop. These cute little popsicles make the perfect frozen teether for older babies and toddlers. You can freeze breast milk, smoothies, pouches or whatever you think your baby will enjoy and have that icy treat soothe their gums and mouth as they munch on it.

  5. Silicone Teether I personally liked circular silicone teething toys for three reasons. One you can easily attach pacifier clips to these teethers for on the go, in hopes your baby doesn't throw it out of their carseat or stroller. Two the circular shape seemed to be the easiest for my baby to hold on to from a young age. Last silicone teething toys can be sanitized unlike wooden ones.

  6. Silicone Teething Mitt is a good first teething toy when baby is in the natural phase of placing their hands in their mouths. The end of the toy is textured while still being soft silicone to massage their gums.

  7. Reusable Freezer Bags are amazing for keeping your freezer teething toys clean, safe and frozen.
