Play-dough Recipe and Accessories
Play-dough is an amazing sensory toy for children you can buy pre-made or make your own right at home. Play-dough helps build strong hand muscles, builds fine motor skills with tool use, builds confidence, it's relaxing and builds creativity through open ended play.
Play Dough Recipe:
In a medium size bowl combine 2 cups of flour with 1/2 cup of salt and 2 tablespoons of cream of tar tar . Next add as much food colouring as you want to 1 cup of water and combine with the dry ingredients. Last add the 2 tablespoons of oil and stir to mix with a large spoon if the dough seems too wet sprinkle in a little more flour and if to dry add in water little by little . Once the water has mixed with the flour move to kneading the dough on your counter top. When nicely formed place dough ball in a sealed air tight container in between uses. To keep play-dough in good shape for a long period of time wash hands with soap and water before each use.

Play-dough Ingredient List:

Adding in Play-dough Accessories:
Play-dough accessories we love and recommend are open ended tools. Tools let each child use their imagination while they create and explore. The same tools can be re-imagined each time you bring them out and keep a child's attention longer. I love play-dough tools such as different textured rollers, pizza cutters, play-dough scissors, mallets, sculpting tools and more. We also pair our standard play-dough tools with little add ons to spark curiosity. You could add on items such as popsicle sticks, tooth picks, gems, shells any open ended sensory materials you have on hand. Your child will love mastering new skills, build their fine motor skills and build their confidence as they work with their set of play-dough tools.
